On Saturday May 8, 2004, several Commercial drywall and taping Foremen completed a four-hour Scaffold Competent Person training class. The class was conducted at the Spruzzi Warehouse entirely in Spanish by Charlie Vasconez and Aurelio Pena, with assistance from Tom Gertz. Everyone who completed this class received a Scaffold Competent Person wallet card, which demonstrates competency in interpreting OSHA's scaffold standard. Completing this class will allow our Foremen to apply their newly-acquired knowledge out on our jobsites to prevent accidents and injuries. To accomplish the learning objectives, a variety of teaching methods were used: Verbal-lecture; review of written material; powerpoint-digital photos; video; discussion; and of course hands-on. Congratulations to our Foremen for completing this important class!
